The national team will face stiff competition in the 2011 Asian Women’s Under-16 Football Championship’s second round of qualifiers early next month in Bangkok.

The Vietnamese team who won all four matches in the first qualifying round will meet with Iran, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Myanmar in Group A.

Iran topped the other first round of qualifiers while the other teams received wildcards to the second round. Iran and host Thailand are considered Vietnam’s biggest threats.

Vietnam will start the competition on December 3 at Rajamangala Stadium and play their next three matches on December 5, 7 and 12.

The top team from the group will enter the final round where they will clash with the Republic of Korea, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Japan, China and Australia.
