The Viet Tien Textile and Garment Corporation posted an export turnover of US$113 million in the first five months of 2006, a 5 percent year-on-year increase.

Viet Tien's key export markets were the US (accounting for 35 percent of this year's sales), Japan (31 percent), EU (18 percent), and ASEAN-member nations (5 percent).

The corporation said its revenue from exports this year hit roughly US$75 million, a 25 percent increase from May 2005.

To enhance its competitiveness, the corporation said it has stepped up the equitisation process of affiliates including the Dong Tien and Tay Do garment and textile companies, and is continuing to expand factory operations in Dong Nai, Ben Tre and Ninh Thuan provinces.
