Vietnamese people will be able to learn more about what their neighbours are eating in Malaysia, said the Malaysian embassy in Hanoi on August 21.

“Malaysia Culinary and Culture Promotion Week” is an event launched by the embassy at the Hanoi Melia Hotel the same day.

The one-week event will highlight Malaysia’s diversified culture, which combines elements of its own with other cultural influences from immigrant groups such as China, India and the Middle East.

The specific food and drinks will be introduced in a buffet dinner at the Melia Hotel, including Nasi Lemak (coconut milk rice with anchovies sambal), Roti Canai (puffed bread served hot with curry), satay with condiments, Malaysian rice noodles, Roti Jala (lacy-like crepe) and Mee Rebus (noodles in sweet potato gravy).
