The Nguyen Du kindergarten and primary school, run by the Vietnamese community in the capital city of Vientiane, opened the new school year for more than 1,000 pupils on September 6.

The opening ceremony drew the participation of diplomats from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, representatives from the Vietnamese Presidents’ Association, and local authorities.

Covering the scale of 10,300 msq, the 40-classroom school has a teaching staff of 84 but enrolls as many as 2,000 Vietnamese and Laotian pupils.
