Vietnam’s export turnover to the US market is likely to reach US$7.3-7.7 billion in 2006, according to the Vietnamese trade office in the US.


In the first months of the year, Vietnam’s exports to the US continued to increase by 44.6 percent compared to the same period last year, with such key export items as garment and textiles, footwear, and wood products.

The trade office said US business circles are very keen to invest in Vietnam. Some US big importers namely Wal Mart or Safeway plan to choose Vietnam as a strategic market. A number of US companies which have established business relations with China, now want to move to Vietnam.
