Landslide in Hai Phong buries quarry, five dead
(VOV) -Five workers were crushed at the A rock mining site in Thuy Nguyen district, northern Hai Phong city, resulting in their instantaneous death, with numerous others reporting serious injuries.
Witnesses said the slide broke out during peak working hours. Heavy stones, each weighing tonnes, rolled down the mountainside, burying the five workers of Kien Ngoc Company. The bodies of two of the workers have been recovered, The search for the remaining victims is continuing.

Thuy Nguyen district police have cordoned off the scene and are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
According to unconfirmed reports, the incident was attributable to the use of unlicensed explosive devices used in rock exploitation at the A rock mining site.
