More donations from foreign governments, international organisations, and overseas Vietnamese communities have been going to flood victims in central Vietnam.

The Japanese Government, on October 26, gave urgent assistance worth JPY20 million for the central provinces including blankets, electric generators and other household items. 

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Tanizaki said he hoped that the flood victims will soon overcome their hardships.

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam, Park Suk Hwan, handed over US$100,000 to the Vietnam Red Cross on October 25.

Later that day, Katherin Bergmann from the German Red Cross presented relief aid worth EUR10,000 to help the flood victims.

The German Red Cross wants to join a working group to assess the needs of flood victims in order to provide prompt and appropriate help, she said.

Pan Noi Ma Ni, Party Secretary and Governor of Bolykhamxay province in Laos visited flood-hit Ha Tinh province and donated US$10,000 to the victims.

Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama also made a field trip and handed over relief aid to flood victims in Ha Tinh province. The Palestinian embassy presented VND30 million, 87 gift packs, 500 T-shirts, five boxes of clothes, schooling supplies, instant noodles, bottled water and plastic household items to the victims.

Overseas Vietnamese in Thailand and Thai friends raised nearly THB700,000 (over US$ 22,000) to help the flood victims and the Vietnamese embassy and Vietnamese community in Mongolia raised US$3,300 to help the victims.
