Vietnam’s makers of electrical wire and cable earned roughly US$55 million from exports last month, according to the Ministry of Trade.

This helped raise the country's total export turnover for electrical wire and cables to US$309 million in the first half of this year, up 38 percent from the same period last year.

The ministry also forecasts that wire and cable production is likely to see an annual growth of 30 percent between now and 2010, with export turnover amounting to over US$2 billion per year by 2010.
