Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Tam Chien recently wrapped up a working visit to Maryland State in order to seek business opportunities in the fields of shipping, information technology, bio-technology and coffee.


During his three-day visit that began on May 21, the Ambassador met with Congresswoman Susan Lee, Maryland State Governor Martin O'Malley and Secretary of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development David W. Edgerley.


Mr Chien outlaid Vietnam's impressive economic figures and stressed that the country has the second fastest economic growth rate in Asia after China.


The Vietnamese statesman's visit also included stops at some of the State's economic centres, companies, historical, cultural and tourist sites.
