Party Politburo member Dinh The Huynh, Head of the Party Central Committee Commission for Communication and Education, made the compliment at a May 11 meeting with the heads of Vietnam’s representative offices overseas in the 2012-2015 tenure in Hanoi.

Huynh said he hopes the offices will be an effective channel helping overseas Vietnamese and international friends understand more about the country.

Pham Van Linh, Vice Head of the Central Steering Committee on External Information, briefed the diplomats on the content of the strategy to develop external information in the 2011-2020 period.

He said the strategy is aimed at promoting the image of a peace-loving, dynamic, democratic, and developed Vietnam, increasing the country’s prestige and status in the international arena, upholding national unity, and taking advantage of international support, which will facilitate its national construction and Renewal process.

He also informed participants of the Foreign Ministry’s important documents on Vietnam’s relations with major countries, the East Sea issues, the struggle against distorted arguments of hostile forces, as well as the responsibilities of representative offices overseas.
