A feasibility study is to be launched on the prospect of building an earthquake monitoring network for Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces.

The project will consist of a number of centres that observe the movement of the earth’s plates that could lead to earthquakes.

The endeavour was referred to the Municipal Department of Environment and Natural Resources and local relevant agencies by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.

The project will commence immediately after it has gained final approval from the municipal People’s Committee.
