The 2008 National Junior Bodybuilding and Female Body Fitness Championships opened in the Central Highland city of Da Lat on August 29, attracting 54 athletes (including 27 men and 27 women) from seven cities and provinces in central and southern Vietnam.
Among the athletes are Se Pha and Dinh Kim Loan, who won gold medals at the Asian Bodybuilding Championships held in Hong Kong, China, last July.
The male bodybuilders will compete in six weight categories: 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, and more than 75kg, and the female athletes in six height categories of body fitness, from 1.55m to 1.6m.
The tournament, held by the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation, will close on August 30.
