The Community Health Research Development Institute (CHDI) was officially established in Ho Chi Minh City on October 15.

The organization will operate as a scientific and technological organization under the auspices of the Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technology Association (VUSTA), though it is not financially dependent on VUSTA.

CHDI’s director, Duong Quang Trung, said that the institute will gather teams of scientists, individuals and organizations to carry out projects on community health care. It will also work to find feasible solutions for raising the quality of health care for all.

In addition, CHDI will provide a range of scientific and technological services in community health care.

The 33-member institute has been working on a number of projects with a focus on private health care in Ho Chi Minh City and the training of doctors in the Mekong Delta.
