A wage reform master plan for the 2008-2012 period will be submitted to the Government for consideration this month, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) said on May 11.

The introduction of the new level of minimum wage was postponed until January 2008 instead of October 2007 as scheduled, said MoLISA.

Accordingly, the minimum wage will be raised by 20 percent to VND540,000 in January 2008, VND648,000 in January 2009, and VND777,600 in January 2010.

The ministry also said it has submitted to the Government a plan to merge the minimum wage in different forms of enterprises into one single level.
