The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) has asked central-run cities and provinces to increase their management of foreign workers in Vietnam.

According to the ministry’s dispatch, as of September 30, they will start to check and inspect foreigners working for foreign contractors and send reports to the ministry before October 31.

The MoLISA also requested the provincial and municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to supply workers for foreign contractors. If these departments cannot supply workers, they must report it to Chairperson of their respective provincial People’s Committee for consideration and decision on allowing foreign contractors to recruit overseas workers.

The police of central-run cities and provinces will be entitled not to renew the temporary residence of guest workers or to force them to leave the country when their labour permit expires.
