The remains of an Australian soldier who died during the war in Vietnam were repatriated at a ceremony held at Noi Bai international airport in Hanoi on October 9.

Representatives of the Vietnamese agency for the search for the missing in action and the Australian Embassy in Hanoi attended the ceremony.

The Australian trooper’s remains were found during a joint search in the southern province of Dong Nai in August this year.

This is the third time Vietnam has handed over the remains of Australian soldiers to Australia since the end of the Vietnam war.
