Vietnam’s Taekwondo team left for Monaco on May 3 to compete for Prince Albert 2 Cup at the 2006 Monaco International Taekwondo tournament.

The tournament is expected to draw the participation of 100 Taekwondo artists from eight countries and territories around the world to vie in the men’s and women’s combat events under an Olympic official competition programme.

Vietnam aims to rank top at the tournament and inquire about its rivals in Europe as they will be tough rivals at the 2008 Olympics, particularly in heavy weight events.

Four Vietnamese artists to attend the tournament include Long Dien, Nguyen Quoc Huan, Nguyen Trong Cuong and Nguyen Van Hung.
