A 6.6 kg boy was delivered after a difficult caesarean section, said a doctor at the Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital on April 11.

This was the heaviest baby ever delivered in Vietnam. By comparison, the world’s heaviest newborn to date weighed 6.8 kg.

The mother and her son are now both in good condition. However, the boy is still under supervision because of his size.
