The Intel Group and the Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the application of information technology in Hanoi on June 4.

Under the MoU, the focus will be on implementing the “purchase programme for EVN staff” with the aim of improving computer knowledge for 80,000 EVN staff.

Thomas M.Kilroy, vice president and general manager of the Intel Digital Enterprise Unit said Vietnam is one of the countries where Intel is keen to boost IT co-operation.

Intel wants to help EVN carry out a feasible study on computer assembly line and soon become a domestic computer manufacturer, Mr Thomas said.
