A collection of documents selected from Russia's huge archives is now on show at the Vietnam Revolutionary Museum in Hanoi to relive Russian History in the 20th century, including the Soviet Union and its ties with Vietnam.

The exhibition covers turning points of Russian History from the reign of Tsar Alexander II to the current leadership of President Vladimir Putin, including the rise and the fall of the Soviet Union (1917-1991).

Part of the exhibition cover the fifth Congress of the Communist International held in Moscow in 1924, where Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh posed for a picture with other international comrades.

Also on display are old leaflets used by Vietnamese revolutionaries to call for the international community’s support of the former Soviet Union's patriotic war against Nazi Germany, as well as documentation on the most recent exchange of high-level visits between the two countries.

The exhibition aims to provide true images of Russian History in an objective manner, said organisers from the Vietnam Revolutionary Museum and the Contemporary History Museum of Russia.

The event is due to close on September 11.
