The 11th National Assembly has resumed its 10th session after the APEC Week. Deputies adopted three laws on the morning of November 21 and will discuss many important contents in the next few days.

The three adopted laws are the Law on Sending Workers Abroad,  the Law on Gender Equality and the Law on Amendments and Supplements to some articles of the Labour Code.

 

The Law on Sending Workers Abroad consists of 8 chapters and 80 articles stipulating activities of sending workers abroad under contract, the rights and obligations of guest workers under contract, the rights and obligations of enterprises and organisations sending workers abroad under contract and related individuals.

 

The Law on Gender Equality includes 6 chapters and 50 articles relating to gender equality-related principles in various areas of social life and measures to ensure gender equality which are applicable to State agencies, professional-social-political organisations, economic organisations, people’s armed units, Vietnamese families and citizens, international organisations operating in Vietnam and foreigners residing legally in Vietnam.

 

NA deputies also voted for the adoption of articles 157,159,162,168, 174a,174b and 179 in the Law on Amendments and Supplements to some articles of the Labour Code.


Later in the morning, President of the National Assembly (NA) of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongsing Thammavong came to attend the Vietnam NA session as part of his-four day visit to Vietnam.
