Japan has committed US$80,700 for the construction of a safe water supply station for Quang Minh village in the northern province of Bac Giang.

The project will benefit 5,000 locals who are still using untreated underground water resources for daily life, said Japanese Ambassador Hottori Norio at a signing ceremony in Hanoi on May 11.
This is part of the Japanese Government's grant aid to Vietnamese localities for the 2006 fiscal year.
