The Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City mayor has expressed his wish that after the Indian House Speaker's visit to Vietnam, the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries as well as between HCM City and Indian localities would be developed to a new height.

Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee Le Hoang Quan made the remarks on March 26 while receiving Speaker of the Indian House of the People, Somnath Chatterjee and his entourage on a visit to Vietnam.

Mr Quan stressed the need to boost cooperation in economy and trade, especially in high technology, information technology, education and training.

Speaker Somnath Chatterjee shared the same views with the city's leader, saying increased cooperation will bring fruitful results.

The same day, the Indian MPs paid a working visit to HCM City's neighbouring province of Binh Duong.

Chairman of the Binh Duong People's Council informed the Indian guests that many Indian investors have established a firm foothold in Binh Duong and he hoped that more Indian businesses would come to Vietnam, particularly to Binh Duong.
