The Government of the UK will provide VND5 billion to build a new readmission centre in Noi Bai, Hanoi.

A document to this effect was signed by representatives from the UK Government and the Department for Immigration under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam on December 24.

The readmission centre will facilitate work of authorised officials involving in returns process such as immigration, customs and health care.

It will also provide a temporary shelter for returnees whose residential provinces are far from Hanoi so they cannot travel back immediately.

The project is part of a package of projects the UK has been supporting for Vietnam under the framework of the Returns and Reintegration Fund.
