The Vietnamese Business Association in the UK (VBUK) has announced a plan to build a village for Vietnamese expatriates in the UK during a visit to London on February 26 by a high-level delegation from the sea port city of Haiphong.

The delegation, headed by Nguyen Van Thanh, Secretary of the Haiphong Municipal Party Committee, was received by both VBUK and the Association of Haiphong-born people in the UK the same day.

During the meeting, Thanh delivered a speech and presented gifts to Vietnamese expatriates who were born in Haiphong city.

Thanh and other delegates spoke about Haiphong’s concerns about overseas Vietnamese as well as about the development and achievements of the port city.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Trung Tinh, Vice President of the Association of Haiphong-born people, reported on its activities, including assistance for flood victims in the central region, and asked for ideas for developing the association.
