The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak is expected to achieve a record export turnover of US$380 million in 2006, 19 percent higher than the yearly target and up 28 percent over last year.

 

Dak Lak province exported more than 300,000 tonnes of coffee beans worth US$345 million, down 2 percent in volume, but up 39 percent in value compared to 2005.

 

The export of cashew nuts reached US$8.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 63 percent, and honey, US$4.86 million, an increase of 37 percent.

 

The province also earned US$8 million from wood products, which were exported mostly to the US and the European markets, representing a rise of 12 percent.
