The Japanese Kaneka Group began to build a high-grade medical equipment factory on an area of 2 ha in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in southern Binh Duong province on May 17.

The US$2-million factory will be equipped with an advanced production line and a quality management system, said Kaneka Pharma project manager Toghihiro Suzuki.

Vietnamese staff will be provided with special training so that they can quickly operate the production line, added Mr. Suzuki.

Japanese investors have so far invested more than US$500 million in 61 projects in Binh Duong province, including US$300 million in 50 projects in the VSIP.
