State President welcomes RoK official

(VOV) - State President Truong Tan Sang on April 3 received Hur Nam Sik, Mayor of the Republic of Korea’s Busan city, who is leading a delegation of Busan’s business people and intellectuals on a working visit to Vietnam.

Sang said relations between Vietnam and the RoK have developed well in recent times, through visit exchanges of their high-ranking delegations, ministries, localities, business and people’s organisations.

He noted the harmony of life and acculturation between Vietnamese and Korean expatriates living in each other’s territories is a vivid manifestation of the growing diplomatic ties between the two countries.

He proposed the RoK government and the Busan council create conditions for Vietnamese residents in the RoK to integrate well into the local community.

The Vietnamese state will continue assisting RoK businesspeople and residents to work and live in Vietnam as their second home, Sang said.

For his part, Mayor Hur briefed President Sang on the result of his visit to Vietnam, including the signing of a cooperation programme to grant scholarships to Vietnamese students to study in the RoK.

He recalled the positive development of the relationship between HCM City and Busan, and expressed hope Busan will expand similar relationships with other Vietnamese localities.

He asked President Sang to further support relations between the RoK, including Busan city, with Vietnam.
