They agreed that the Ministry of Education and Training should be assigned to carry out the task of managing education and training and the system of vocational training schools across the country to avoid overlapping.
Currently, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs is also engaged in vocational training.
Some deputies suggested that the Government have a specific assignment based on the real situation. They said the most important thing is that the draft law should stipulate specific policies to boost vocational training so as to generate quality human resources for national economic development.
Other deputies argued that the task should be transferred to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs as it is performing the task.
Deputies gave opinions on the scope of adjustment and the name of the draft law as well as recruitment policies and objectives of vocational training.
In the afternoon, deputies debated the draft Law on Sports and Physical Training, focusing on socialisation and State policies on sports and physical training, pool management and land funds for sport projects.
They shared the view that the draft law clearly shows the State’s responsibility towards the cause of sports and physical training with the aim of improving Vietnamese people’s health and height.
Deputy Nguyen Thi Kha from southern Tra Vinh province suggested that schools reserve an appropriate amount of land for students’ sports and physical training activities.
