An international conference on emerging markets will be held in Hanoi from June 29 to July 1, 2008 by the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) and the Emerging Markets Forum.

The conference will focus discussions on issues, such as the impact of the recent development of international financial markets on emerging markets, the role of independent investment funds, Vietnam’s economic prospects in the long term, international trade and investment in Asia, Africa and Latin America, financial markets in developing countries – ASEAN financial markets, and the impact of the climate change on emerging markets.

The MoPI said that the conference is expected to attract around 70 international delegates, including President of the Asia Development Bank, the former president of the Philippines, former vice president of the World Bank, governors, managing directors of financial groups and banks in India and Switzerland and some international journalists.
