Argentine football legend Diego Maradona will play a charity match in Vietnam in early June, announced the joint sponsors of the event, including digital television company VTC, Tuoi Tre (Young Age) newspaper, and Nguyen Kim company at a press briefing in Ho Chi Minh City on April 11.

The visit is part of Maradona's Asian Tour and will include a friendly match and charity work to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from June 1-3.


Maradona will be joined by other former Argentina national players and will be pitted against a former Vietnamese stars team on June 2.


The football legend will also meet with the press, visit and present gifts to orphans at the Tam Binh Orphanage in Thu Duc precinct and attend a gala dinner at the Thong Nhat (Reunification) Palace.


The Asian Tour will begin in Bangkok, Thailand on May 21-24, then move on to Malaysia, Vietnam, China and finish up in Australia.
