The Ho Chi Minh Party Committee's Standing Board on March 8 announced a number of measures aimed at preventing and settling strikes at local enterprises.

The city will promulgate regulations on the settlement of strikes, speed up the implementation of programmes on housing and cultural life and improve employment and living conditions for workers.

The city will hold regular meetings with enterprises and workers, and intensify the examination of labour law compliance at enterprises.

The municipal Party Committee will also pay attention to improving workers' political and legal knowledge in order to help protect their rights and benefits.
