The Vietnamese feature film "Chuyen Cua Pao" (Pao's Story), which won four Golden Kite awards at the Vietnam National Film Festival early this year, was screened in New York, the US, for the first time on October 30.

The 300-seat Learner Hall at the Columbia University was fully booked when the film made its debut. After the screening, hundreds of US and Vietnamese viewers stayed to talk to director Ngo Quang Hai and main actress Hai Yen.

The film will continue its two-week tour of famous universities such as the Yale, Harvard and Stanford before going to a film festival in Japan.

Vietnam
’s Culture and Education Institute, which sponsors the screening, said it will continue to introduce the country’s cultural achievements, including films, to American friends to promote mutual understanding between the two countries’ people.
