Speaking at the awards ceremony, deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan emphasized that the Ministry of Science and Technology should help these enterprises adapt to international business standards and honour other enterprises and individuals who have excelled in high quality products and services.

Businesses have to adhere to seven criteria before they are eligible for the annual award, including leadership, strategic planning consumer and market research information and operational analysis, human resources development and management and business results.

The award is a part of the International Asia Pacific Quality Award established by the Asia Pacific Quality Organisation.
