The logistics service and multi-modal transport are quite new in Vietnam and customers have not been fully aware of such services' benefits, reported at a seminar in Hanoi on April 4.

According to last reports on the project in the field, transport with higher quality will help expand the market, export activities, limit the loss of goods and remarkably reduce storage prices.

Special attention should be paid to market conditions, competitiveness, transparency and responsibility as Vietnam is to join the World Trade Organisation, said the reports.

The seminar suggested the collection of multi-modal transport laws and regulations as well as the management of transport modals in commensurate with international treaties. It pointed to State-owned enterprises' roles, the enhancement of effective competition, and lifting hindrances to investment.
