Vietnam Television’s Dreaming Star is one of the nominees for the 2010 Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Prize for the entertainment jury’s special awards.

The show Dreaming Star, will be up against five other programmes in the television entertainment category including 26 Hour Day from Tokyo Broadcasting System Television; 101 Things To Do Before Dying from the Korean Broadcasting System and Pacific Pulse from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The show will have to beat four other rivals from Pakistan, Mauritius, Afghanistan and Mongolia to win the Television Special Jury Prize.

Dreaming Star was launched in 2009 with a monthly broadcast on Vietnam Television’s Channel 6 (VTV6). The 60 minute studio-based show is broadcast at 9pm on the first Thursday of the month.

A ten-minute programme is aired weekly on Wednesday at 8.45pm to promote the next show.

The programme aims to help the dreams of young people come true with support from individuals, organisations and a ‘dream’ ambassador.
