This will be the first time such a program will be held with the aim of encouraging learning and scientific research movements among students. It will also highlight students who obtained the highest marks at university graduation exams or bagged gold medals at the International Olympiads in 2005.

A programme to honour excellent students in university graduation exams will be launched in Hanoi on March 26.

The announcement was made at a press briefing held in Hanoi on March 20 by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Central Association of Vietnamese Students and Vietnam Communist Review.

This will be the first time such a program will be held with the aim of encouraging learning and scientific research movements among students. It will also highlight students who obtained the highest marks at university graduation exams or bagged gold medals at the International Olympiads in 2005.

The programme is one of the activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Party Youth Union and welcome the 10th National Party Congress.

Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union Nguyen Thanh Phong said the award for outstanding students includes an insignia and a scholarship worth VND1 million.
