To deal with the fact that commodity prices continue to fluctuate wildly on the market, the Ministry of Finance has requested Finance Departments in all provinces to check on the prices of goods in shops and supermarkets.

During the inspections, if any businesses are found to have been deliberately driving up prices or attempting to dump goods will be fined from VND200,000 to VND30 million.

Following the Ministry of Finance’s directive, local finance departments must coordinate with market management offices to quickly implement measures to stabilize the prices of essential goods over the Lunar New Year.

These measures are essential to ensure enough goods and services and avoid an imbalance of supply and demand, which causes the fluctuation of prices.
