The Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) has permitted four Vietnamese crocodile breeders to export 34,850 crocodiles in 2006.

The four crocodile breeding farms include Ton Phat, Hoa Ca, Forimex and Suoi Tien in Ho Chi Minh City. In the first half of this year, these farms exported 925 pieces of crocodile skin and 550 crocodiles to China, Japan and some European countries.

Currently, HCM City has 35 farms and 120 households breeding more than 78,530 crocodiles.
