A traffic safety programme was launched at four primary schools on Nov. 8 by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation.

The programme called “An toan giao thong qua ong kinh tre tho” (traffic safety through a child’s lens) took place in Hoang Dieu, Hoang Hoa Tham, Chu Van An and Xuan La primary schools.

The Foundation’s deputy president Nguyen Lan Huong said that the programme aims to raise pupils’ awareness of traffic safety and provide them a chance to get acquainted with photography.

The Asia Injury Prevention Foundation will help pupils use cameras to take photos of traffic safety on roads. Best photos taken by these pupils will be enlarged and exhibited at schools.

The deadline for entries set by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training is Nov. 12. Winners will be awarded at a ceremony in December 2007.
