Export turnover from foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) reached US$1.724 billion in December, up 26.8 percent against last year, brining the whole year’s total export turnover to US$19 billion, up 26 percent against last year, according to the Ministry of Trade.

Exports from FDI enterprises accounted for only 45.2 percent of the country’s total export turnover in 2004, and 57.4 percent in 2005.

FDI enterprises constitute an important factor behind Vietnam’s export growth over the past years.
