Vietnamese film “Moon at the Bottom of the Well” is being screened at universities throughout the United State, including the University of New York, the University of Washington, the University of California-Berkeley and the University of Pennsylvania, from Mar. 25 to Apr. 20.
The film screening programme was organised by the Institute for Vietnamese Culture and Education - a non-profit non-government organisation established in 2000 in New York, with the aim of promoting Vietnamese culture through the publication of magazines in Vietnamese and the organisation of art performances, seminars and exhibition as well as cultural and educational exchanges between Vietnam and the US.
The Vietnamese film won a Silver Kite Award of the Vietnam Movie Association in 2009 and its main actress, Hong Anh, won a best actress award at the 5th Dubai International Film Festival in December 2008.
