Both sides discussed the development potential and advantages of each province in the field of economics, culture, sports and tourism.
Mr Chieu said the two countries have many things in common, including the agriculture-based economy. Each province has two international border gates which facilitate transportation and tourism, especially the An Giang-Cambodia, Champasak route.
Currently, An Giang University is training five students from Champasak province in the faculty of agriculture. The province has also conducted short term agricultural training courses for Champasak technicians and farmers. In addition, it has sent specialists to Champasak to transfer technologies on growing hybrid rice, raising freshwarter fish and preventing rice diseases.
