The visit was aimed at learning about the situation for ethnic minority groups and policies for ethnic minority people in Russia. This was a follow-up activity to strengthen the relationship and comprehensive cooperation between Russia and Vietnam.

Both sides spoke highly of the potential for closer cooperation between the two countries’s Government Committees for Ethnic Minority Affairs and shared experience in dealing with ethnic issues and tapping advantages for mutual benefit to consolidate their time honoured friendship.

During their visit to Moscow, the delegation met with representatives from the Ministry of Regional Development, the Council of the Federation Committee on Federal Affairs and Regional Policies, and the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on North and Far East Regional Affairs.

Earlier, the delegation visited Ekaterinbua, Svetlov, St Petersburg and met with some senior Russian officials.
