Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has issued a decree to offer preferential treatment to people who contributed greatly to the revolution.

According to the decree, the standard allowance will be VND564,000 (US$32.5) a month.
Martyrs’ family members will also receive VND564,000 (US$32.5) a month. People who have cared for family members of martyrs, or Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, will also receive more than VND1 million (62.5 USD) per month.

The decree stipulates that families of Armed Forces’ Heroes and Labour Heroes who died before January 1995, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, can receive sums up to 20 times higher than the standard level. War invalids whose labour capabilities were reduced by 5-20 percent can get a one-time allowance of 4-8 times higher than the standard level.
