Vietnam’s volume of wood products this year is estimated to reach US$3 billion, ranking in fourth position among countries exporting wood products in the world. However, many Vietnamese businesses are facing difficulties because 80 percent of wood materials must be imported.

This influences the sustainable development of Vietnam’s wood production. Many countries, which import Vietnam’s wood products in Europe and North America, have regulations banning the import of wood products without clear origin.

Now, more and more businesses complain about imported wood products that have no clear origin. Vietnam’s businesses should pay attention to this fact if they want to develop soundly.
