A Vietnamese delegation led by National Assembly Law Committee Vice Chairman, Tran Dinh Long, paid a working visit to Ukraine from July 8-12.

The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of Ukraine, A.Martunyuk, and attended working sessions with the Ukrainian National Assembly’s Committee for External Affairs and other senior Ukrainian officials.

Mr Martunyuk briefed his Vietnamese guest about the political and socio-economic situation in Ukraine, as well as his country’s external policies.

He emphasised that Ukraine and Vietnam share a common view in dealing with regional and international issues. The two countries have cooperated well in international forums, and should continue strengthening bilateral ties through visit exchanges of high-ranking delegations. He said the Ukrainian National Assembly is preparing its Chairman’s visit to Vietnam scheduled for the end of this year.

During working sessions, Ukrainian officials praised the great contributions by the Vietnamese community to Ukraine’s development, and pledged to create favourable conditions for them to stabilise their lives in the country.

Mr Long spoke of his Ukraine visit, describing it as an important milestone in enhancing legislative cooperation between the two countries.
