Making a presentation about taboos of the Vietnamese people, Yamamoto Nana from the Hanoi National University won the first prize in an eloquence contest in Vietnamese held for the Japanese in Hanoi on April 27.
As many as 16 Japanese, who are studying and working in Vietnam, took this occasion to show their understanding about Vietnam’s traffic and environment issues and cultural similarities between the two countries.
According to Japanese Counsellor to Vietnam Matsugana Daisuke, the contest served as a cultural venue for Vietnamese and Japanese people to deepen their mutual understanding and boost the strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The contest, the first of this kind, was organised by the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Cooperation Centre to celebrate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
