Vietnam will spare no efforts to promote the multifaceted cooperation with Cuba, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told visiting Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque in Hanoi on April 14.

The Vietnamese PM expressed his pleasure at the development of special Vietnam-Cuba relations and spoke highly of achievements made by Cuban people in recent times, particularly in healthcare and education. He said he believes that under the leadership of President Fidel Castro, Cuba will continue to reap more fruitful achievements in all sectors.

He took the occasion to send his best regards to President Fidel Castro, wishing the President to get well soon.

The Cuban Minister expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for their support and solidarity with Cuba. He noted the positive trends in bilateral trade and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group's involvement in oil exploration in Cuba.


Earlier, Mr Roque, who began an official visit to Vietnam on April 13, held talks with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem.
