The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has welcomed 24 cruise ships during the past 11 months, bringing 16,300 foreign tourists to the province, according to the provincial Tourism Department.

The tourists, mostly from Australia, the United States, Britain and Canada, made tours of historical sites in Nha Trang city and the countryside.

The department said the number of foreign tourists to the province by sea increased comparatively against the same period last year. Local travel agencies spared no efforts to promote the image of a friendly coastal city of Nha Trang with quality services to foreign tourists.

Khanh Hoa is expected to welcome approximately 3,500 more foreign visitors from the two cruise ships in December.
